Recently, Know My Menu had the exciting opportunity to host a stall at the California Restaurant Association Tradeshow in Anaheim, CA, connecting directly with restaurant owners and industry professionals eager to explore the latest in trends, products and innovations in the food and restaurant sector.
It was clear that restaurant owners are focussed on the importance of being attuned to their customers and having a strong online presence. Most already knew that diners check out a restaurant online before visiting. But what truly caught their attention was a fresh perspective on the menu itself and how it is the selective diner who chooses the restaurant. The strategic use of photos, detailed descriptions, and smart placement of dishes can directly impact their bottom line. Many were surprised to learn that a thoughtfully designed digital menu doesn’t just display food; it actively helps sell it. By making it easier for selective diners to find options that match their lifestyle and dietary needs, restaurants can reduce decision friction and enhance the overall customer experience.
The show also attracted many new restaurant owners eager to leverage technology as a competitive edge. We loved sharing how Know My Menu’s digital menu solutions simplify this process, empowering restaurants to engage their customers like never before. A special highlight was having Carlos Ortiz, the proud owner of Limón y Sal in Ventura, CA, join us on the last day. Carlos brought his real-world experience with Know My Menu straight to the table, sharing how the digital menu transformed his restaurant’s customer engagement and sales.
On a personal note, my two sons were absolute stars throughout the event. They jumped right in to help at the stall, engaging with fellow stall owners and restaurant professionals with genuine enthusiasm. Joining us was Natasha, an experienced sales and marketing professional whose expertise was invaluable in connecting with customers and sharing the Know My Menu story. Their combined energy and skills brought an extra spark to the experience, reminding me how meaningful it is to build relationships in this vibrant industry. We even coaxed our camera-shy front-end developer, Jack, out from behind the screen so he could experience firsthand the restaurants he’s building for.
Beyond meeting restaurateurs, we deepened our partnerships with fellow technology providers, ensuring we continue to innovate and offer the best tools for restaurants ready to embrace the digital future. If you missed us at the California Food Show, don’t worry — the journey has just begun. Stay tuned for more ways Know My Menu is helping restaurants serve up success, one beautiful dish at a time.
